Hey there! I’m Ally, the practice manager here at Southeast Counseling Services LLC! I would first like to introduce myself. I have been working at SEC for two years and have loved every minute of it! In addition to being a part of SEC, I am a cosmetologist and the youth pastor at Destiny Now Ministries. As well, I attended Campbell University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry and I currently attend the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in hopes to become a Licensed Clinical MentalHealth Counselor (LCMHC) one day. My goal is to ensure each person who reaches out to us feels prioritized and well taken care of. Whether it’s setting up an appointment, answering questions, or whatever it may be I am here for you! In the words of Helen Keller, “alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

I am thrilled to be a part of the SouthEast Counseling Raleigh team! I treat from a trauma-informed perspective which means that I believe in asking “what happened to you” as opposed to “what is wrong with you”. Understanding the impact that trauma has on the mind and body allows us to more effectively shift perspectives and change behaviors. My clinical experience comes from treating those recovering from substance use disorder, domestic violence, sexual assault, PTSD, and mental illness. I use a person-centered approach based in Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Behavioral, DBT, and Narrative Therapies.

After graduating with full honors from Wake Forest University with Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling I both worked and volunteered in community agencies and Universities as an advocate for victims of interpersonal violence. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCHMCA), a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCASA), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

I am a Raleigh native still living in the area with my husband, 2 teenagers, and 3 cats. This may explain my dependence on a good sense of humor and belief that we are never fully grown or fully educated!

I am currently a counseling student at Liberty University.  I am pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  I graduated from Fayetteville University with a B. S. in Business Administration and from Liberty University with a master’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling.  After receiving a degree in Human Services, I realized that I wanted to broaden my scope to enable me to serve a more diverse population.  I am aspiring to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC).

As I strive to reach this goal, I am actively under the supervision of Southeast Counseling Services, LLC.  My belief is that therapy is a collaborative process that can guide clients in a direction of increased self-awareness, gaining new perspectives, decreasing symptoms, and increasing their strengths in order to lead fulfilling lives with meaningful experiences.
